I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
