Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced problems to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in providing protection systems and enforcing penalties," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Local officials said the urban area endured intense attacks overnight. A minor died and three other people were wounded.

The assaults come after periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
